I cannot with life right now.
It's already February... and my life is already so hectic that I can't fully grasp the happenings of the past month. Not that I'm complaining. I mean, I asked for this, right? I wanted something exciting and refreshing, right? Life, right?
To give you a brief explanation, I started a new career path immediately after the New Year. I used to only manage socials, design posters, take care of internships and communications, and manage client websites. When January stepped in, I immediately had to take the role of UI/UX Designer for a new entity under NUECA (my previous-and-still company). I suddenly had tight deadlines, high expectations, and little to no sleep, 48-hour days.
I'm excited with everything, and like I said, I'm not complaining. This is new ground for me, and I'm challenged enough to stay on my toes and try to get over my drowsiness during meetings with clients I have to design for.
I. Just. Need. A. Bit. Of. Rest.
A small down time if you will. I need to reset my health so I can continue doing 48-hour days in the long run. Since our boss is very output-based and has high expectations from everyone on her team, I want to perform above and beyond. I want to impress and destress my boss. I want her to believe in her team. In short, I want to deliver everything before the deadline (if possible).
Just yesterday, we left at 5am from Shaw Blvd. to go to Urdaneta, Pangasinan for a meeting at 10am. That was the first time my eyes couldn't adjust and was constantly hurting throughout the day. Seriously. I have never had that experience where my eyes actually hurt whenever I blinked or stayed open. We arrived home at around 8pm on the same day, and let me tell you, I was feeling terrible. I just wanted to go to Starbucks and get something bitter that night, so I pushed through.
Sorry if this post is such a mess, but I missed blogging and I wanted to do something familiar for a change. I hope to blog more this month, but I'm not making any promises to myself, especially now that I have no control over my schedule (weekends are a myth now). I've even had to decline a trip to Baguio because my schedules are conflicting, haha!
Le sigh (again).
So ends my little update. No one might read this (or half-way even), but I feel like I need to mark the first of February somehow.
Hope your January was amazing! Cheers to an even better February.
